CT Veterans Tuition Waiver
NOTE: “Public Law 18-47” effective 1 OCT 18, extends the CT Veterans Tuition Waiver to certain Veterans with Other than Honorable discharge.

QVCC does NOT determine your eligibility for benefits, but we do provide you with the appropriate guidance to apply to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for those benefits.  QVCC is responsible for certifying your enrollment status to the VA so that they can provide payment to you.

Getting Started

Satisfactory Academic Progress

Qualified students enrolled to use their VA benefits at QVCC will not have their enrollment certified to the VA if they have violated the College’s SAP policy. After one semester of not meeting the SAP requirements, VA students will be placed on Academic probation. If the VA student is not in compliance after the next term, he or she will be placed on academic suspension. If the VA student is still out of compliance with the SAP policy after this term, they will not be certified to use their VA benefits for the subsequent term(s).

Prior College/Military Credit Evaluation

You must have all of your prior college credits and military training evaluated at QVCC.  By the end of your second semester, you must summit transcripts form all prior colleges and military.  If your transcripts have not been received and evaluated by the end of your second semester, QVCC will not be able to continue to submit enrollment certifications.
