Vaccines for Willimantic Students

Our community partner, Generations, has walk-in hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9 am – 12 noon and 1 pm – 4 pm, 40 Mansfield Avenue, Willimantic, CT 06226-2018.

Vaccines Required

The Connecticut Board of Regents (BOR), which has oversight of QVCC and all the community colleges in Connecticut, voted to require students who participate in on-campus activities this fall to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. That means if you plan on attending class or extracurricular activities in person, you must first get vaccinated.

If you are not vaccinated and attending on-campus or at the Willimantic location

Weekly COVID Testing is Required
If you are not fully vaccinated and attending on-campus in Danielson or at the Willimantic location, weekly testing will take place on campus for students who are not vaccinated or show proof of vaccination. At this time, vaccinated students will not be tested as part of the weekly screening program except as required for clinical or internship placement requirements, etc.

In Danielson:

Testing will take place by our partner sema4 in W107, by appointment, 10am – 5pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.

In Willimantic:

Sema4  is providing testing on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 8 – 2 p.m., at the Willimantic Plaza, 1589 West Main St, Willimantic. There is no cost but you should bring your proof of insurance if available.

Submitting Results of Testing

Testing results taking place on the Danielson campus will be submitted by sema4 to the CEO.
If you can not be tested in Danielson or at the sema4 Willimantic location,  your results must be hand-delivered to: CEO Karen Hynick on a weekly basis. Karen Hynick is located at the Danielson campus, second floor at the top of the Atrium staircase.

Campus Etiquette

  • Students, faculty, and staff are required to wear a face mask while on-campus and must follow social distancing protocols. Mask and Social Distancing Policy.(rev. 8/25/21)
  • Social areas and common areas will not be available for use.

Health and Safety Protocols

In addition to a stringent daily system of disinfecting and cleaning based on CDC and CT Department of Public Health guidelines, the following measures are being implemented:

  • Partitions, Plexiglas shields, podium shields, and other enhanced safety measures are installed.
  • Hand sanitizer stations are on campus and available at all building entrances, all classroom entrances, and in other high traffic areas in buildings.
  • Wipes or disinfectant spray and paper towels will be available for use in high contact and frequently used areas, including classrooms prior to each class meeting.
  • Signage and floor tape will be used to remind the campus community of social distancing requirements, the mandatory wearing of masks, and other health and safety protocols.
  • Maintenance & Custodial and other employees in high contact areas will use protective equipment as needed to ensure their safety and that of the campus community.
