Three QVCC Students Chosen for Art Exhibition at Hartford Art School

Quinebaug Valley Community College is proud to announce that three of our student artists, Kaylah Brace of Webster, MA, Jaimie Lohman of Dayville, CT, and Kristi Luchi of Plainfield, CT were selected to showcase their art in the 2020 Community: Transfer Student Exhibition at the Donald and Linda Silpe Gallery at the Hartford Art School (University of Hartford). The exhibition will continue to run until March 12, 2020.

Students chosen for the exhibition demonstrated exceptional work, showcasing creative perspective and a mastery of skills. To be eligible for submission, students were required to submit a portfolio containing 10 pieces of original work, a 500-word artist statement, and a letter of recommendation. Students also had to be enrolled in any Connecticut Community College (Asnuntuck, Capital, Gateway, Housatonic, Manchester, Middlesex, Naugatuck, Northwestern CT, Norwalk, Quinebaug, Three Rivers, Tunxis); or enrolled at Holyoke Community College, Springfield Technical Community College, or Greenfield Community College.

Kristi Luchi reflected on the exhibition by saying, “It was a wonderful exhibit filled with amazing pieces by students from around the region! The campus is beautiful and the show was fantastic! I can’t wait to attend in the fall!” Luchi is a Visual Arts major at QVCC and plans to major in Ceramics at Hartford Art School.
