Eddie Graff ’13

eddiegraff (002)It’s hard to believe that someone with a master’s degree in manufacturing engineering didn’t think he would continue his education past high school.

But Eddie Graff was concerned about the cost of a college education as well as the challenges he would face in the classroom. After taking some time off and researching his options, he started taking classes at QVCC because it was local and affordable.

Eddie excelled. While fulfilling the requirements of an engineering science degree, he became a member of Epsilon Pi Tau and Phi Theta Kappa and even tutored classmates in engineering. Through the Foundation, he was awarded the Michael Davis Memorial Scholarship in 2012 and 2013 before graduating with highest honors in 2013. He was also selected to receive the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, awarded to outstanding community college students to help them transfer and complete their bachelor’s degrees.

“QVCC changed my future by giving me the courage to push myself in life,” said Eddie. “I was able to achieve things far greater than I ever thought possible because of the base QVCC gave me to work off of.” He has proven this by completing his M.S. in manufacturing engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute while working at Whitcraft, LLC as a manufacturing engineer.

Congratulations, Eddie!
