In collaboration with Quinebaug Middle College, Killingly High School, Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School, and the NAACP, Quinebaug Valley Community College will host, “Our Multicultural Selves: Building Cultural Awareness” on Wednesday, November 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m in room W101 (Danielson Campus).
Presented by Dr. Mara Gottlieb, this interactive discussion is designed to provide participants with the resources to develop a personal and intellectual understanding of bias and discrimination, help construct a greater sense of commonality, create a greater understanding of the benefits of a community where people feel safe, seen and respected, learn and utilize strategies to engage others in sensitive conversations, and utilize concrete tools to create a more inclusive community.
