What is the SNAP Employment and Training Program?
The Mission of the SNAP Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) Program is to help SNAP participants gain skills, training, or work experience to increase their ability to obtain regular employment that leads to economic self-sufficiency.
If you are receiving SNAP benefits in Connecticut and not receiving money from the Temporary Family Assistance (TFA) program, you may be eligible to participate in SNAP E&T. E&T is a skills-based program that provides short- term vocational programs at community colleges and community-based organizations.
Scholarships for SNAP recipients
QVCC is pleased to offer SNAP recipients access to federally-funded scholarships, which are administered through the state’s Department of Social Services (DSS), for the following short-term training, credit certificates and associate degrees.
