I am a General Studies major right now.   I’m still learning about what I love so I plan to declare a new major once I try more courses in more areas.

Why did you choose to come to QVCC?

I chose to come to QVCC because after high school I was unsure of what I wanted to study so QVCC gave me the opportunity to study at a small setting and get personalized attention.  I plan to transfer to Eastern Connecticut State University after I graduate.

What have you learned about QVCC, as an institution, that you didn’t know before you came here that has surprised you – in a good way?

I was surprised by how much QVCC has to offer students and how many subject areas are taught here.  I have been able to take classes at the main campus in Danielson, as well as the smaller, satellite location in Willimantic.  This has helped me to fit classes around my work schedule.

How has the college prepared you for your next step whether continuing with a four-year degree or entering the job market?

QVCC has helped me to strengthen my English skills, in particular my writing skills. I know this is very important, especially for transferring to a four-year institution.

Apply NowWhat has been the best part of being a QVCC student?

I have had the freedom to explore all types of classes – some which I never thought I would try.  I never thought of taking art and education classes, and I have found out that I enjoy both and plan to take more.

What is advice can you give to someone who might be interested in going to college and considering QVCC?

QVCC is a great place to start, especially if you are not ready for a four year university.  You can save money too by starting at QVCC . The staff are caring and have been a positive influence on me and I know this can be your experience too.
