Dr. Robert E. Miller Educational Advancement Fund

Honoring Our Past, Ensuring Our Future.

PAST

Dr. Miller Legacy

In 1971, Dr. Robert E. Miller was named president of the newly established Quinebaug Valley Community College. Bob quickly recognized the need to help those who otherwise could not attend college due to financial constraints by involving area businesses and community members in the College’s  fundraising efforts. This resulted in the establishment of The QVCC Foundation, a 501C3 organization, distinct and separate from the college yet closely tied to its success. Bob proudly and passionately served as president for 21 years, during which time the college expanded to a 68-acre campus in Danielson, opened a satellite center in Willimantic, and grew its service and educational offerings to students in northeast, CT.

For this, we are forever in his debt.

Lives Transformed

“I started part-time at the Willimantic Center in 2011. Thanks to my instructors and support from The QVCC Foundation, I was able to transition to full-time status and complete two Associates Degrees with zero federal debt. The guidance I received at QVCC helped me to reach my true potential. I am now working towards my Bachelors in Data Science at Columbia University in New York City.”
