Denise Walsh ’90
Denise Walsh ’90 enrolled at QVCC in 1980. She pushed forward with her education even as family life became busy, juggled classes and a campus job, and graduated in 1990. She went on to get a master’s degree and began teaching in a local school system. Four years later she returned to the college as an adjunct instructor, which led to a full-time teaching position in 2006.
As an alumna, Denise is often heard saying, “QVCC raised me”— it provided a stepping stone to advance and an experience that enriched her life. Indeed, she set out and accomplished her educational goals. She is the only person in her family with a master’s degree and the only woman with a bachelor’s degree!
To show her support of the Foundation, Denise became the faculty representative in 2013. She believes the students are first and foremost the priority of the institution, and helping them achieve their educational goals is the reason she continues to stay involved.
Denise recognizes the members of the Foundation as incredible role models. “They are generous and motivated individuals who continue to give in any way that they can,” she said. “They are passionate volunteers who make time for what they believe in.”
We recognize these characteristics in Denise and we thank her for her commitment to us!
