Friday, April 6 – QVCC’s annual poetry contest!

Submit up to three original poems!

Julius was a beloved member of the QVCC English department. He has over 20 years of service in community colleges, with leadership experience in instruction, student services, and career technical education. He is the president of the California Community College Association for Occupational Education and represents the organization on the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Consultation Council. He is currently interim executive vice president at Moorpark College.

There are five prize categories

• QVCC Students – English
• QVCC Students – Spanish heritage speaker
• QVCC Students – Spanish non-heritage speaker
• QVCC Students – Performance poetry
• Quinebaug Middle College

Prizes offered in all categories: 1st $100 / 2nd $50 / 3rd $50

Deadline  to submit your poetry is APRIL 6, 2108.

The awards celebration will be held Wednesday, April 25, at 4:30 pm at Julia de Burgos Park in Willimantic.
