QVCC offers a range of career training programs designed to give you the skills needed to gain employment. Current programs include:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
This course will provide students with the required training to obtain CNA certification in the state of Connecticut. Classroom lectures will cover all aspects of patient/resident/home care, including support for all activities of daily living, cultural diversity, death and dying, as well as managing a client with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
This EMT-Basic course exceeds the National Department of Transportation and the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health guidelines for an Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B).
Medical Transcription Editor – Offered online
The Medical Transcription Editor online training program helps students develop the knowledge and skills of qualified medical transcriptionists in addition to the specialized skill set of medical transcription editors.
Partnering with W.I.T.S. (World Instructor Training Schools), this course is a 62 hour, hybrid course (online and on-ground, including an internship), consisting of 16 hours of online video-enchanced lectures and 16 hours of “hands on” practical training labs.
This certificate program will prepare students to start a new career path at a hospital or pharmacy while working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist as described above.
Pharmacy Technician – Offered online
The online Pharmacy Technician training program has a six-month enrollment period where you can work from home at your own pace or complete the program in three months.
This program prepares students to assist veterinarians in all aspects of animal care.
A 100% refund will be granted up until five (5) business days before the start of a class as long as the request is made during normal business hours.
