In-state transfer with CT State Universities

If you are interested in any of these programs, stop by the Student Success Center and meet with an advisor.

Transfer Compact with Connecticut State Universities – Eastern, Central, Southern and Western

QVCC and the four Connecticut State Universities (CSU) participate in a dual admission program called the Transfer Compact for students who are planning to enroll at a CSU after completing as associate degree.

Benefits & Details:

  • You must enroll prior to earning 15 credits
  • Receive personalized academic advising from both community college & university advisors
  • Full library access at the university while completing associate degree
  • Priority registration
  • Smooth transition from one institution to another

Guaranteed Admissions Program GAP with UCONN 

Students enrolled in GAP can seamlessly transfer to any UCONN campus to pursue a major within the following schools & colleges after completion of a Liberal Arts & Sciences associate degree.  Students must enroll prior to earning 30 credits.

  • Liberal Arts and Sciences
  • Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources or
  • Business

You are guaranteed admission to the University of Connecticut once an associate degree is earned. Learn more

The Transfer & Articulation Program (TAP) 

TAP (Transfer Articulation Pathways) transfer directly to Connecticut State Universities and Charter Oak State College without losing any credits.  Students are guaranteed full junior status upon transferring.  We offer the following CSCU Pathway Transfer degrees:

  • Communication Studies
  • Criminology Studies
  • English Studies
  • History Studies
  • Mathematics Studies
  • Political Science Studies
  • Psychology Studies
  • Social Work Studies
  • Sociology Studies

CT Guarantee

The Connecticut Independent College Transfer Guarantee (CT Guarantee) allows CT Community College associate degrees to transfer to a participating 4-year independent college in the state – admission guaranteed!  Students interested in transferring to a participating independent institution now have more options for a seamless transfer of credits.

Eligibility:
– An associate degree from a Connecticut community college
– A GPA of 2.0, 2.5 or 3.0 (guaranteed admission based on GPA varies by college)

Additional Transfer Information 
QVCC holds regional accreditation through the New England Association of Schools and Colleges which allows for portable credit transfer to the college of your choice. Complete transfer information should be verified through the college or university you are interested in attending.
