The 31st Annual QVCC Foundation Golf Tournament

Thank you to everyone who made The QVCC Foundation’s 31st Annual Golf Tournament a success!

On September 20, 2023, the QVCC Foundation hosted its 31st Annual Golf Tournament at Connecticut National Golf Club in Putnam, CT. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and players, the Foundation raised over $65,000 at this year’s outing. Funds from this event will support local students attending Quinebaug Valley Community College.

Black History Month – Prudence Crandall’s Legacy by Donald Williams

QVCC welcomes guest speaker and local author, Donald Williams to talk about his book, Prudence Crandall’s Legacy: The fight for Equality in the 1830’s, Dred Scott, and Brown v. Board of Education. Hear about Prudence Crandall’s role in her fight to educate black women, beginning with her first black student, Sarah Harris, in the early 19th century in Canterbury, CT.

Join us in the auditorium on Wednesday, February 23 from 10:30 – 11:30 am.

Also, be sure to sign up for the Basic Skills Assessment in advance or complete the Assessment Testing Exemption form if you qualify. This way you will be all ready to secure your fall 2018 classes. If you haven’t taken your Assessment Test, you can take in on Saturday. No appointment is necessary for testing, however, you will need to arrive by 11:30 am to give you the time needed for the assessment. You will not need to make a payment for your classes on June 2nd, however, you should consider applying for Financial Aid in advance.
