Rena Masson ’08 – Alumni Spotlight

Rena Masson was a fine arts major when she attended QVCC in 2008. She choose to attend QVCC because she was a local artist looking for a start to her art career at an affordable, small, and caring college. When she first walked through QVCC’s doors, she found just what she was looking for.

Rena thanks QVCC for inspiring her to achieve her dreams. She made life-long connections to her professors and the staff at QVCC who motivated her to work hard and take her art seriously. After graduation from QVCC, Rena received her bachelors from Montserrat College of Art in Beverley, MA. She was a free lanced artist and created many sculptures and paintings for QVCC’s Spirol Art Gallery. She worked closely with Audrey Shaw Mucci who then inspired her to push her boundaries of her art and studio practice and open an artisan shop. She now is the owner of Tunk City Revival in Danielson, CT.

Tunk City Revival is an artisan shop and maker space made up of over 100 local artisans. They specialize in selling locally handmade arts and crafts. Tunk City Revival also offers community learning through art classes, paint nights, kid’s classes, private parties, and yoga classes. The location is right on Main Street in Danielson.

“My door is always open to QVCC students and graduates. QVCC helped me to be successful and now hope to return the favor and help local artist pursue their dreams!” Congratulations Rena! QVCC is proud you and your successful business.
