Foundation Member Spotlight – Bill Brower

Bill Brower and his wife Lois Brower

Bill Brower has been a dedicated member of the QVCC Foundation for several years and became involved with the Foundation through the Learning in Retirement (LiR) program offered on the QVCC campus.

Bill Brower is a Connecticut native, growing up in Norwalk, CT and living in five different towns in Fairfield County while teaching elementary and middle school for 35 years in Ridgefield, CT. Brower is a passionate educator and lifelong learner, which is why he became involved in the Learning in Retirement program at QVCC. LiR is an independent program for QVCC adults who enjoy learning in a stimulating and social environment. Over 400 residents of northeastern Connecticut take advantage of this incredible opportunity on an annual basis. When Brower first joined LiR he worked as a member-at-large on the Executive Council.  He served as president for two years and then joined the Program Committee eventually co-chairing that committee for six years. Brower also heads the LiR Scholarship Committee and served as the LiR representative to the Foundation until 2022, when he became a Foundation Board member at large. LiR provides 2 scholarships yearly to QVCC students and continues to add to their endowments yearly. Brower was so impressed by the QVCC Foundation that he was determined to stay involved. We are blessed that Bill continues to put so much of his time and efforts towards QVCC students.

Bill states, “I continue to support the Foundation because I am so impressed with this phenomenal school. I am determined to stay active with QVCC and do whatever I can to make sure the students here continue to be successful.”

The QVCC Foundation is fortunate to have members like Bill on our board. It is passion and motivation like his that makes such a large impact on students’ lives.  On behalf of the many learners Bill continues to support, we would like to say, “Thank you!”
